Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit in Hillsborough, North Carolina. This full-time role involves greeting patients, performing registrations, insurance verification, and guiding patients through their visit while ensuring accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Ideal candidates bring strong customer service, basic computer skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, mobile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to register patients in systems and verify insurance.
• CPR certification required before hire for mobile radiology; otherwise a plus.
• Basic computer skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced mobile setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and by phone.
• Register patients and collect time-of-service payments if applicable.
• Answer calls professionally and maintain patient records.
• Verify insurance and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Prepare patient instructions and assist in pre-/post-procedure steps.
