Job summary

Pilot Company (SSC) is seeking a field HVAC technician to install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems, food service equipment, and related utilities across Knoxville region locations. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently while traveling extensively.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with store management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• EPA Universal 608 certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent commercial HVAC service experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing commercial cooking or refrigeration equipment.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
• OSHA guidelines knowledge (OSHA 10 training provided).
• Valid state driver’s license with a positive driving record.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests; troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment per warranty and industry standards.
• Communicate repair status with supervisor and store management.
• Complete same-day work order notes and forward to supervisor; ensure proper charge allocations.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels for service needs.
• Maintain service vehicle and tools to company standards.
• Diagnose and repair fuel dispensers and related fuel systems (training provided).
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVACR, plumbing, and other equipment.
• Ensure all repairs comply with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Travel and cover regions during vacancies, PTO, or LOA.
