Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to travel to homes in Nashville, Clarksville, Hendersonville, Columbia and surrounding areas to perform repair and preventative maintenance on whole home standby generators.

You will read manuals, diagrams, and blueprints, diagnose issues, and service equipment using company vehicles. Responsibilities include assessing and repairing generators, documenting services in our system, and communicating

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative.
• Reading and comprehension skills are required to understand technical manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Ability to drive company vehicles safely to each customer’s residence within and surrounding area.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair work.
• Experience with electrical wiring.
• Be physically able to perform the job duties including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, pulling, grasping, and walking on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Must be able to drive company vehicles to each job site.

Responsibilities

• Using company vehicle – travel to customer’s residence
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on the customer’s home generator.
• Follow technical instruction manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services are performed using an electronic software system
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Along with the duties above, other duties may be assigned.
