Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic to travel to customer sites and perform in-field repairs on various brands of heavy equipment.

The role involves diagnosing issues, ordering parts, and producing technical reports while upholding company values. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of diagnostic experience on heavy equipment, read hydraulic/electrical schematics, and maintain tool sets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Two (2) years of continuous experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the company.
• Ability to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on the weekend when needed.
• Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license; CDL if required.

Responsibilities

• Performs field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervision.
• Diagnoses and evaluates problems with equipment and makes repairs using established guidelines and flat rates.
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs.
• Models safe work habits and adheres to safety policies and procedures.
• Keeps rework within established guidelines; maintains accuracy in paperwork.
• Accepts overnight stays when required and attends factory trainings.
• Maintains service truck in good working condition and cleanliness.
• Completes daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspections.
• Interacts professionally with customers, managers, and colleagues; promotes goodwill.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned; demonstrates reliable on-site attendance.
