Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic to perform in-field repairs on various brands, traveling to customer sites.

The role requires diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing reports, and maintaining company gear, all while upholding Kirby-Smith values of safety and professionalism. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2 years’ equipment repair experience, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• 2 years diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of tools and any specialty tools.
• Overtime, overnight, and weekend work as needed.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL if required.
• Must obtain and maintain DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and repair equipment following established guidelines and flat rates.
• Plan methods and sequence of repairs.
• Maintain service truck and perform safety inspections.
• Complete required paperwork promptly and attend training.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
