Job summary

Fleet Services – A Cox Automotive Company is seeking a Mobile Heavy-Duty Technician I to join our Houston team. The role involves maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, with on-site mobile service capability.

You will work on a variety of rental and client equipment, read diagrams and manuals, and perform preventative maintenance while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in heavy equipment repair
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems
• Able to read diagrams and service manuals
• Able to perform tasks independently and with basic computer skills
• Must have own hand tools; High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a variety of equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals on equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, Off road equipment, and cranes (light crane work)
• Repair electrical and mechanical components
• Carry out preventative maintenance program for mobile equipment
• Identify and request replacement parts to perform repairs
• Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion
• Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements
