Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive in Houston, TX seeks a Heavy-Duty Technician to maintain and repair a range of trucks and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. You’ll work in a dynamic, safety‑conscious environment supporting on-site and mobile service for fleets nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Own hand tools required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems.
• Familiar with hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Able to perform tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Read diagrams and service manuals and schematics.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, off-road equipment, and cranes (light crane work).
• Repair electrical and mechanical components.
• Maintain knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems; pursue training.
• Carry out preventative maintenance for mobile equipment.
• Identify and request replacement parts.
• Complete paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion.
• Follow Safety and Environmental requirements.
