Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive, headquartered in Indianapolis, provides mobile and on-site fleet maintenance nationwide. Houston, TX is seeking a Heavy-Duty Technician to maintain and repair trucks and equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, and service heavy equipment, read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance. Production-based pay ranges with potential incentives are offered along with training

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in heavy equipment repair
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems
• Familiar with hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Able to perform tasks independently
• Must have own hand tools
• Must have basic computer skills
• High School diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a variety of rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals on equipment
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, off-road equipment, and cranes (light crane work)
• Repair electrical and mechanical components
• Carry out preventative maintenance programs for mobile equipment
• Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion
