Job summary

Generator Supercenter of Birmingham is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to service residential standby generators. Using company vehicle, you will travel to customer homes to perform repairs and maintenance.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, read manuals and diagrams, document work in our software, and adhere to safety practices. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with weather-related changes; pay is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to drive company vehicles safely to each customer’s residence within and surrounding area.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair work.
• Experience with electrical wiring.

Responsibilities

• Using company vehicle – travel to customer’s residence.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
