Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Light & Medium Duty Technician to perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on fleet vehicles. You will work mainly on light and medium duty gas vehicles, with occasional emergency roadside support, following safety procedures and company protocols.

The role emphasizes diagnostics, electrical systems, and customer service, with dedicated hours and flexibility for emergencies. Training and career progression are available within Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ related experience (combination of light & heavy duty preferred).
• Must pass DOT background screening and DOT physical.
• Must have a valid DOT medical card or be able to obtain one.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, engines, transmissions).
• Document work and photos per company standards using the proprietary app.
• Communicate with management and Dispatch to obtain approvals and discuss findings.
