Cox Fleet is hiring a Light & Medium Duty Technician to perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on light and medium duty trucks. The role includes diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and electronic issues, maintaining safety standards, and documenting work orders in our systems.

This mid-level technician role emphasizes independent work, problem solving in emergency situations, and timely communication with Dispatch and customers.

Qualifikationen

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience (light/heavy duty preferred).
• DOT background screen and DOT physical required prior to employment.
• DOT medical card with >4 months remaining may be used in lieu of a physical.
• Candidates must be 21+ due to interstate commerce regulations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Driver Qualification File.

Aufgaben

• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, braking, cooling, transmissions, engines).
• Document work orders with photos of parts used and findings.
• Communicate with management and Dispatch to obtain approvals on repairs and discuss findings.
• Adhere to safety, health and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
• Diagnose and repair truck systems including electrical, air conditioning, engines, and transmissions.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
