Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an experienced technician to perform mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks. The role includes preventive maintenance, electrical diagnostics, and warranty repairs with some mobile on-site work to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.

You will work on newer vehicles across multiple brands, applying diesel and medium-duty expertise to improve reliability and keep customers moving.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, and drive vehicles as needed.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.
• CDL may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Include preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
• Role includes mobile repair responsibilities and may involve driving Budget Trucks to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers applying diesel/medium-duty expertise to reduce downtime.
