Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Permanent Full Time Mid-Level Mobile Automotive Technician to support our truck fleet in Memphis, TN. Pay up to $32/hour, with a quarterly retention bonus and a 40-hour workweek.

PTO, medical/dental/vision and a company vehicle are provided where applicable. This role includes ongoing training, a 401(k) with match, tuition repayment, and additional perks such as stock discounts and paid maternity leave.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Professional diploma preferred.
• Two (2) years or more in combination of classroom training and work experience.
• NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E required.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
• State driver's license as required.
• Ability to understand and adhere to company policies; maintain professional relationships.
• Work independently and as part of a team; strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, inspect and perform preventive maintenance for non-contractual customers.
• Perform routine maintenance such as tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, fluid checks and basic replacements.
• Assist higher-grade technicians and diagnose/repair engine parts and fuel components.
• Perform basic diagnostics and hydraulic brake inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• May operate mobile maintenance vehicle and travel to customer yards within the region.
• Ensure proper documentation of work orders, repair authorizations and notes in Salesforce.
