Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Forbes, MN to lead hourly crews in a heavy industrial setting. You will drive safety, efficiency, and quality through focused leadership, inspections, and proactive planning.

The role requires a 2-year technical degree and 3–5 years of mining/heavy industry experience, with preference for unionized workforce management. Relocation assistance may be considered; a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in technical field or equivalent.
• 3-5 years' recent experience at mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry.
• Prior experience within an industrial production environment.
• Prior experience managing a unionized hourly workforce.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, facilitate, and motivate employees to safely and efficiently execute their work assignments.
• Strive to keep all employees safe by training in safe work practices.
• Complete planned inspections, safety contacts, and task observations.
• Establish high performance standards for employees and provide feedback on progress.
• Update scheduling personnel on daily and weekly carry-over work.
• Supervise hourly employees and develop understanding of the work to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Coordinate and facilitate departmental training needs and staff development.
• Analyze and evaluate work to drive continuous improvement in maintenance.
• Communicate and implement safety and loss control standards and MSHA regulations.
• Resolve employee problems through effective communication.
• Assign work to crewmembers and monitor progress; address roadblocks.
• Prepare break-in work and organize outside resources; manage parts.

Education

2-year degree in technical field or equivalent

3-5 years' experience in mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry
