Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Shift Manager Operations for the United Taconite LLC Forbes, MN Processing Plant. This role leads safety-focused, high-performance teams to run the plant safely and efficiently.

The position requires a 2-year technical degree, 3–5 years in mining/mineral processing, and ability to work rotating shifts. Relocation support may be offered for highly qualified candidates outside the local area.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in technical field or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ recent experience at a mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required.
• Willingness to promote team concepts and company policies.
• Ability to motivate, delegate, establish, and work in a collaborative environment.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24-hour coverage, 7 days per week.
• Regular attendance is an essential requirement.
• Must be able to physically perform all these responsibilities safely: walk on uneven surfaces, climb equipment, operate pickup, and other small fleet vehicles, etc.
• Relocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, facilitate, and motivate employees to safely and efficiently execute and complete their work assignments.
• Train in safe work practices to keep employees safe.
• Update scheduling personnel on daily and weekly carry-over work.
• Supervise hourly employees and improve operating efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety rules.
• Resolve employee problems through effective communication.
• Communicate with Mine dispatch to prevent disruptions.
• Monitor plant performance and address variations.
• Enter quality work orders when needed.
