Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Maintenance at our Northshore Mining facility in Silver Bay, MN. The role directs and monitors maintenance programs for the Pellet Plant, supervising the maintenance workforce to align with predictive, planned, or break-in work schedules.

The position emphasizes safety, leadership, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, contractor oversight, and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mining or heavy industry.
• Bachelor's or Vocational degree in related field or 5 years related work experience.
• Strong leadership experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and delegate.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Thorough understanding of predictive and reliability-centered maintenance.
• Ability to plan and coordinate multiple work tasks with a variety of employees, departments and outside contractors.
• Be a champion of safe production and continuous improvement.
• Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Facilitate the development of employees by providing constructive feedback and continuous coaching.

Responsibilities

• Create positive working atmosphere to safely achieve maintenance plan goals.
• Be a champion of safety – through safety interactions, safety meetings and by example.
• Conduct weekly safety and information meetings within area.
• Coach, direct and develop technicians within their area.
• Follow-up on any safety concerns promptly.
• Publish daily and weekly schedules to maintain plant production targets.
• Verify parts, tools and equipment availability.
• Ensure proper work order discipline is maintained.
• Oversee contractors involved in maintenance activities.
• Communicate to all crew members their job assignments and timing.
