Job summary

Cox Automotive Fleet Services is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, routine PMs, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems, manage on-truck parts inventory, and document findings with accurate RO entries using company tools.

The role demands 21+ years old, valid driver's license, and DOT/FMCSA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years related field experience, or 5 years related field experience.
• Welding experience preferred as stated in requirements.
• Candidate must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy vehicles in field/mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Maintain service truck and inventory; document repairs and upload RO details via TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and parts as needed.
• Complete DOT forms and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
