Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our customers by servicing fleets at client locations. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks on-site, handling a range of components from injectors to transmissions while documenting all work in the mobile service program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are essential.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance of the truck (fuel, oil, cleanliness, inspections).
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle operations to plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and repairs.
• Diagnose and replace components (injectors, pistons, bearings, etc.).
• Document work performed in the company system and ensure accuracy.
