Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service our fleet at client locations and perform maintenance, inspections, and component replacements as needed. You will install with manuals, document work, and provide high-level customer service while supporting after-hours calls.

Responsibilities include diagnosing with diagnostic equipment, maintaining tools, managing service truck inventory, and communicating repairs to customers and the service writer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 9 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment per company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with fuel, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and determine malfunctions to plan work procedures.
