Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our fleet customers by performing on-site maintenance and service calls.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks, read job orders, use diagnostic tools, and ensure safety and compliance while working a flexible schedule. Join tenured technicians and participate in ongoing training as we expand our nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, bearings, transmissions, etc.
• Document work performed in the company system and communicate with customers.
