Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, road-test vehicles, and document findings using the TRAIT app on an iOS device.

The role requires HS diploma or GED with 3 years of related experience (or 5 years), and DOT/FMCSA compliance. ASE T8 certification within 18 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED plus 3 years in related field; or 5 years in related field.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT background screening and DOT medical exam compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using handheld instruments and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnostics.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory and service truck.
• Document work using RO and TRAIT app; upload photos of repairs.
