Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking an on-site Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-mid repairs in a field environment across multiple locations. The role requires strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, adherence to DOT regulations, and independent daily scheduling.

Candidates must have a HS diploma or equivalent, own tools, and be prepared for interstate work with a valid license. Company offers extensive safety gear and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related field experience or 5 years in related field.
• Own a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical compliance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate interstate without sponsor.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, PMs, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems using appropriate tools.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Document RO findings, parts used, and inspections using company tools.
• Manage parts inventory and schedule with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies including OSHA/DOT.
