Job summary

Cox Automotive – USA is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to moderate repairs on fleets in a mobile/field environment. The role supports Cox Fleet's nationwide on-site service network.

Shift: M-F, 12 PM–8:30 PM, some weekends; remote option with residency requirement in the Nashville area; Cox Fleet emphasizes safety, reliable diagnostics, and timely RO documentation via TRAIT.

Qualifications

• DOT inspections experience required.
• Experience in light to heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose with handheld test instruments and road test.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Repair and diagnose electrical, braking, cooling systems, and other components.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Document RO findings with photos using TRAIT app on an iOS device.
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for replacements.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA/EPA regulations.
