Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive business, provides mobile maintenance and fleet support with a nationwide network of service centers and providers. As a Mobile Diesel Technician II, you will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a variety of trucks and trailers in a field setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher with 3 years related field experience or 5 years related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/ FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card valid or eligible for DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems on trucks.
• Inspect, test and listen for malfunctions using test instruments; road test vehicles.
• Manage parts inventory using company-issued service truck and TRAIT app.
• Conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections; maintain company service vehicle.
