Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs in a mobile field setting. The role requires diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and engine systems, road testing, and maintaining service truck readiness.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of related experience (or 5 years alternative), ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED or higher with related field experience.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT regulations knowledge and DOT medical card requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy trucks in field/mobile settings.
• Conduct minor repairs and diagnostics on electrical, brake, cooling and engine systems.
• Test, road-test and diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain safety checks and post-/pre-trip inspections on service trucks.
• Document findings and parts used in TRAIT application and RO forms.
