Job summary

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-heavy repairs in a field/mobile environment. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, manage parts on a service truck, and document findings in our TRAIT system.

Strong safety compliance is essential. Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, 3–5 years’ related experience, ASE T8 within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical are required.
• DOT medical card with remaining validity may substitute for a DOT physical.
• 21+ years old due to interstate commerce rules.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DQF.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, road test vehicles and document findings with RO using TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck equipment; maintain safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management for repair approvals and purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT safety regulations.
