Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I for DOT‑related maintenance in a flexible, remote-capable role. You will perform PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on various trucks, manage parts on the service truck, and communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ related experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT regulations and FMCSA requirements.
• DOT medical card or DOT physical when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, and other engine components.
• Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck and reconcile periodically.
• Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues.
• Manage multiple tasks with priority and time management to meet deadlines.
