Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Wichita Falls, TX is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to maintain fleets at customer locations and respond to service calls on site. The role requires 5 years of Class 7 & 8 truck experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and relevant certifications.

CDL preferred but not required; FMVSS medical card required. You will diagnose, repair, and service trucks, read job orders, and coordinate with the service manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Peterbilt/International/Ford/Hino/Isuzu certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory on service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily assignments.
• Remain available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the tools needed for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, bearings, brakes, and transmissions.
• Document all work performed in the company system.
• Inspect safety devices and ensure proper operation of guards and bolts.
• Lubricate moving parts and test repaired vehicle against specs.
• Document paperwork or enter data into mobile service program promptly.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on future repairs and services within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply learnings on the job.
