Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join the Mobile Crisis Response and Community Triage (MRRCT) teams in Spokane. The role involves delivering stabilization services in homes, hospitals, schools, and community settings, supporting individuals in crisis, and promoting recovery with families and youth.

Qualified candidates will have recovery experience, a valid credential, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work in a cooperative and collaborative manner as a team member with program participants.
• Familiarity with inpatient behavioral health care facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist other professionals in the development of treatment interventions and stabilizations for those in an acute crisis situation.
• Provide supportive services to clients, including children and youth, encouraging them to regain hope and control over their lives.
• Identify services and activities that promote recovery and reduce stigma.
• Promote personal responsibility for recovery and act as an advocate.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team to provide stabilization services.
• Ensure the individual and their family are heard and their needs are met.
• Engage with individuals prior to discharge and assist families in community transition.
• Maintain communication with team members to ensure quality services.
• Serve as a peer advocate to empower individuals.
• Assist individuals in crisis by finding resources for stabilization.
• Develop and maintain linkage with community resources.
