Job summary

Sound is seeking a dedicated Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist to operate from a mobile crisis unit, responding to urgent behavioral health calls in the community. The role leverages lived experience to assess crises, provide immediate support, and connect clients with resources.

The position requires collaboration with emergency responders and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Certifications as a Peer Support Specialist and WA credentials must be obtained within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in psychology preferred.
• Experience: Lived experience with mental health challenges REQUIRED.
• Certifications & Licensure: Peer Support Specialist certification required; WA credential within 60 days; valid WA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Crisis Assessment and Intervention: respond to crisis calls as part of mobile crisis team.
• Follow-up: provide post-crisis follow-up services.
• Support: offer empathetic listening and support to individuals in crisis.
• Building Rapport: use lived experiences to build trust with clients.
• Collaboration: work with behavioral health professionals, law enforcement, and community resources.
• Crisis Management: help clients develop coping strategies and crisis plans.
• Documentation: maintain accurate records of services provided.
