The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks a Conservatorship Worker to support CPS Conservatorship cases in Odessa and surrounding areas. You will work with families and courts to secure safe permanency for children, including kinship arrangements and court involvement.

Role involves travel up to 85% across the region, coordination with investigators, and detailed documentation of case progress.

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Skill in problem solving techniques.
• Ability to travel and attend child and family visits after 5pm.
• Ability to be on call on a rotating basis and work irregular hours.
• Ability to work in emotionally charged environments and during home visits in challenging conditions.

Mansioni

• Receives cases from investigators after children are removed from their homes and placed in CPS conservatorship.
• Determines each child’s needs and ensures referrals for testing, evaluations, records, or further assessments.
• Works with children, families, and communities to plan for a child’s permanency.
• Identifies permanency resources through ongoing contact with parents and kin.
• Conducts kinship home studies and evaluates kinship providers for care.
