Texas Department of Family Protective Services seeks a Conservatorship Worker I to manage cases after children are removed, coordinating care under CPS conservatorship. You will assess needs, arrange services, and plan for permanency with families and kinship providers.

The role requires strong communication, attention to safety, and collaboration with courts, attorneys, and caregivers to achieve timely permanency for children.

• Ability to operate a personal computer.
• Willingness to travel and attend visits after 5pm.
• On-call rotating schedule and irregular hours.
• Ability to work in an emotion-filled environment and conduct home visits in challenging conditions.

• Receives cases from investigators after children are removed and placed in CPS conservatorship.
• Determines each child’s needs and ensures referrals for testing, evaluations, or records.
• Plans for a child's permanency with families and communities.
• Identifies permanency resources and conducts kinship home studies as needed.
• Meets with parents to assess risk and safety, guiding services to address needs.
• Meets with children, families, and caregivers in various settings.
• Collaborates with Placement Team for suitable placements.
• Attends court hearings, prepares reports, and testifies as needed.
• Maintains communication with all parties involved and documents case records.

Bachelor's degree or higher in social services
