Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) in Sinton, TX is seeking a Conservatorship Worker I to support CPS cases involving children removed from home. You will assess needs, arrange services, monitor care, and partner with families, kinship providers, and legal parties to pursue safe permanency.

This role requires travel up to 60% across the region, frequent court involvement, and the ability to work in a mobile environment.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Flexibility for travel and irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Receives cases after children are removed and monitors care in CPS conservatorship.
• Assesses needs and coordinates referrals for testing, evaluations and records.
• Plans for child permanency with families and kinship providers.
• Identifies permanency resources and completes home studies.
• Attends court hearings and communicates with attorneys and guardians ad litem.
• Keeps case records and builds relationships with partners and law enforcement.
