Job summary

Heywood-Hospital is seeking a General rotating MLS/MLT to work across clinical laboratory areas. The technician will perform a wide range of lab procedures with independence and collaboration with supervisors and peers to support patient testing, quality control, and special projects. Hours are 40 per week, days from 6:00am to 2:30pm with rotating weekends.

A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available. The salary range posted is $29.27–$38.67 per hour, with compensation determined by experience

Qualifications

• Requires MLS/MLT credentials or eligible for MLS/MLT certification.
• Minimum education: associate degree in science with clinical training or bachelor’s in clinical laboratory science.
• ASCP/AAB/HEW/AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to operate common lab instruments and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality in all procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and venipuncture as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean laboratory workspace and comply with safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot instrument errors and monitor quality control values.
• Enter and edit testing orders in the lab information system.
