Job summary

Mid-Valley Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine laboratory testing across bench areas, with shifts on Fri–Mon from 7:00am to 5:30pm. The role requires rotating coverage, venipuncture skills, and proficiency with LIS and automation to generate accurate results.

You will mentor MLT students, orient staff, and participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and continuing education while upholding HIPAA and safety policies in a busy hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and internship.
• Licenses: ASCP licensure or must complete ASCP licensure within one year after hire.
• Skills/Abilities: proficiency in routine lab testing, familiarity with computerization, and completing lab check-off skills.

Responsibilities

• Rotates across bench areas, including evenings and weekends.
• Performs routine and automated testing and reports results within time guidelines.
• Operates LIS and related computer systems; performs venipunctures as needed.
