Job summary

Phoebe Ministries in Emmaus, PA, is seeking a Sous Chef to lead our Dining Services team and prepare high-quality meals for residents and guests. You’ll ensure safety, quality, and presentation while guiding staff in a mission-driven kitchen.

We value teamwork, cleanliness, and a positive dining experience. Eligible candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, ServeSafe certification, and 2+ years of kitchen experience in healthcare or institutional dining.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years in culinary/large-volume kitchens.
• ServeSafe certification required or obtainable during introductory period.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, recipes, food safety, sanitation; excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lunch, dinner, café specials, and cook-to-order meals while leading kitchen staff.
• Ensure food safety standards, monitor temperatures, and complete required documentation.
• Minimize waste and maintain a clean, organized kitchen; handle opening/closing duties.
