Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an experienced Red Team Penetration Tester to perform offensive cybersecurity operations for U.S. Government and DoD systems.

You will collaborate with Blue Team and cybersecurity professionals to enhance overall cyber posture and defensive readiness. Requirements include active SECRET clearance (TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility preferred), extensive pentesting experience, Linux/Windows expertise, and hands-on use of tools like Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, and Cobalt Strike.

Qualifications

• Five years of software engineering experience applied to DoD or IT systems.
• Firm grasp of Linux with strong knowledge.
• Foundational Windows knowledge with enterprise network understanding.
• Experience with common pentest tools (Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike).
• Experience with Red Team operations, pentest or exploit development, and multiple programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Debug and reverse engineer software.
• Analyze Windows events and Linux syslogs, boot logs and dmesg.
• Develop scripts and GUIs in languages like Python, C/C++, and Tcl/Tk.
• Recommend software modifications to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Operate and administer Linux/Unix and Windows systems.
• Identify security flaws in code and apply STIGs and NSA encryption guidelines.
• Implement virtual hosting and deceptive technologies when architecting systems.
• Participate in code reviews and perform static analysis.
• Contribute to SSAOM documentation.
