Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an experienced Red Team Penetration Tester to conduct penetration testing and offensive cyber operations for the U.S. Government and DoD systems. You will collaborate with Blue Team professionals to strengthen cyber posture and ensure secure system design.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in DoD/IT security, strong Linux, Windows, and pentest tool proficiency (Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike), and hands-on experience with AD, Entra ID, AWS, and cloud security practices.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in software engineering applied to DoD or IT systems.
• Firm grasp of Linux
• Foundational Windows knowledge in enterprise networks
• Proficient in Pentest tools (Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike)
• Experience in Penetration Testing, Red Team, or exploit development
• Experience with Python, C, C#, C++, Go, Perl, PowerShell
• Experience with AD, Azure Entra ID and hybrid identity
• Experience with AWS services and cloud security best practices
• Knowledge of RESTful/SOAP Web services and OAuth2/SAML/LDAP

Responsibilities

• Debug and reverse engineer software.
• Analyze Windows events and Linux logs.
• Develop and debug Web apps in multiple languages.
• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities through code and architecture reviews.
• Operate systems across Linux/UNIX and Windows environments.
• Apply NSA/STIG security guidance and encryption technologies.
• Contribute to system documentation and reviews.
• Perform red-team oriented testing and threat emulation.
