Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an experienced Red Team Penetration Tester to perform offensive cybersecurity operations for U.S. Government and DoD systems.

You will work with Blue Team and Cybersecurity professionals to enhance overall cyber posture while supporting security testing and software evaluation. The role requires five years of relevant experience, strong Linux/Windows skills, and hands-on use of Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, and Cobalt Strike; a Secret/Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in software engineering applied to program development; modeling and simulation applied to DoD or IT systems.
• Linux proficiency with solid knowledge; demonstrated hands-on.
• Windows knowledge with enterprise networking understanding.
• Experience with common Penetration Testing tools: Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike.
• Experience in Penetration Testing, Red Team Operations, or related security fields.
• Programming in Python, C, C++, Go, Perl, PowerShell; web app security knowledge.
• Hands-on with Active Directory, SSO, MFA, Azure integration.
• Experience with AWS, Cloud services, and serverless architectures.
• RESTful/SOAP web services, OAuth2, SAML, LDAP security concepts.
• Security certifications (e.g., OSCP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, GXPN) or equivalent CTI/CTF exposure.

Responsibilities

• Debug and reverse engineer software.
• Analyze Windows Events and Linux syslogs, boot logs and dmesg logs.
• Program and debug Web 2.0, Java, Perl, C++, Tcl/tk scripts and GUIs.
• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities; recommend software modifications.
• Operate and administer UNIX/Linux and Windows systems.
• Evaluate security flaws in source code; understand NSA encryption guidelines and STIGs.
• Apply virtualization and deception techniques in system architectures.
• Participate in code reviews; perform static analysis; contribute to SSAOM.
