Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an MEP Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, schedule production, and procure materials, manpower, and equipment for our commercial projects. You will supervise all direct labor and coordinate with the Project Manager to align look-ahead schedules and on-site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field.
• At least 2 years of commercial construction experience in a Mission Critical environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes and design requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of CMiC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily job-site operations including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment.
• Supervise all direct labor and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure on-time project completion.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and use look-ahead schedules and monitor progress.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and align on phasing, scope, and schedule with subs and clients.
• Ensure safety, quality, and integrity of work; implement company policies consistently.
• Resolve issues with supervision and labor representatives; manage workforce effectively.
• Review and resolve construction issues with inspectors, suppliers, and engineering personnel.
