Job summary

TKDA, an employee-owned engineering and design firm, seeks a Structural Group Manager for its Mining division. You will lead the Mining Structural team, guide projects through design to construction, and mentor engineers while cultivating client relationships.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and sometimes leading as the chief structural engineer on projects. Hybrid work and regional travel are required.

Qualifications

• PE with fifteen or more years of progressive structural design experience.
• Minimum five years directly managing a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects.
• Coaching, developing, or leading mechanical engineering professionals.
• Experience preparing technical reports assessing deficiencies or replacements.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with proposals and interviews.
• Ability to travel up to 20% as needed for project meetings and on-site work.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mining Structural team and drive growth, direction, and performance.
• Provide structural guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Occasionally serve as lead structural engineer and oversee QA/QC.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and manage budgets and scheduling.
• Develop marketing plans, pursue opportunities, and represent the firm at interviews.
• Mentor and develop staff and engage with clients to nurture relationships.
