Job summary

TKDA, an employee-owned engineering and design firm, seeks a Structural Group Manager for its Mining division in the Duluth/Bloomington area. You will lead the Mining Structural team, oversee project delivery, budgets, and client relationships from concept through construction.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, and drive growth and proposal development while maintaining high technical standards and a commitment to client success.

Qualifications

• PE with 15+ years of progressive structural design experience in mining/heavy industrial facilities.
• 5+ years leading multi-discipline projects and coordinating with Architecture, Civil, Electrical, and Structural teams.
• Experience coaching, developing, or leading mechanical engineering professionals or project teams.
• Experience preparing technical reports on mechanical systems for deficiencies or replacement.
• Strong MS Office performance (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and proposal/presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for project meetings and on-site consultations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Mining Structural team, directing projects, budgets, and client relations.
• Coach and mentor engineers and professional staff toward team objectives.
• Provide structural engineering guidance across project lifecycles; lead as needed for QA/QC.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to evaluate scope, complexity, and scheduling.
• Develop marketing plans, pursue project opportunities, and represent TKDA at interviews.
