Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on experience in managing construction safety across North America. You will support the Project Safety Program, help develop site policies, and assist field teams to maintain safe working conditions.

This internship offers relocation to project sites, exposure to real-world safety operations, and strong career and travel opportunities within a leading construction company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently or on a team.
• Willing to travel/relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program and develop site safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
• Establish and monitor safe working conditions for personnel.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in reporting performance metrics when needed.
• Review project work plans for conformance and assist in safety audits, coaching, and onsite training.
