Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician for our Elko, NV facility. You will perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of mining equipment to keep systems safe and productive at customer sites.

The role requires diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, with proactive problem solving and teamwork. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with motor controls, schematics, and component alignments, and is committed to safety and continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• Two years in a related technical service role, with mining or heavy industrial experience preferred.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or at least one year of technical college in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and circuit installation; able to read schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes.
• Independent and team player with good communication and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to identify root causes and fixes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites with high workmanship standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before returning to operations.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Read motor control schematics to troubleshoot effectively.
• Ensure proper mechanical alignments of couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records for continuous improvement.
