Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Elko, NV to keep mining equipment safe, reliable, and performing at its best.

You will perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair work across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems at customer sites, contributing to downtime reduction and high workmanship standards. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience, pursue continuous improvement, and collaborate with field teams and customers to deliver timely

Qualifications

• Two years of related technical service experience, preferably in mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or one year of technical college in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Experience with motor control systems and interpreting schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes.
• Able to travel and work at varied mining sites with safety focus.
• Good communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites with high workmanship and safety.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before returning to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot motor controls, circuit installations, with schematic reasoning.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
