Komatsu Mining Corp. seeks a Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection of mining equipment from our Elko, NV facility and at customer sites.

The role focuses on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with travel to diverse surface mining locations to minimize downtime and ensure safety. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience, a strong problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to staying current with equipment technologies.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a technical service role.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or one year of technical college in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good communication with stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety protocols and safe work environment.
• Willingness to travel to varied surface mining sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on a wide range of mining equipment to ensure safety and optimal functionality.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues; identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Replace or repair defective parts at customer sites while maintaining high workmanship standards and safety compliance.
• Conduct testing of repaired equipment to verify performance before return to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of service requirements.
• Utilize knowledge of motor controls, circuits, and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records for continuous improvement.
