Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician to support our Elko, NV facility. You will perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair work on mining equipment, applying mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical expertise to ensure safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes proactive problem-solving, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety in challenging environments, with on-the-job training and opportunities for growth within Komatsu's Field Service organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a related technical service role.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent of at least one year of technical college education.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems, circuit installation, and ability to read schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning motor couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to travel and operate in varied mining environments.
• Commitment to safety protocols and effective communication with teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment.
• Diagnose issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and implement solutions.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites, maintaining safety standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before return to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Utilize motor controls knowledge and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate essential mechanical alignments for long-term equipment reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for continuous improvement.
