Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician based out of Elko, NV, to perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of mining equipment in demanding environments.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, execute repairs at customer sites, and ensure safety and reliability. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration with field teams, and timely service to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a related technical service role.
• Experience with mining/heavy industrial equipment preferred.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent education.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and circuit installations.
• Ability to interpret schematics for troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for aligning couplings, transfer cases and gearboxes.
• Safety-focused with good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough maintenance, repair, servicing and inspection of mining equipment.
• Diagnose issues in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems; identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites with safety in mind.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before return to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot motor controls, circuits, and schematics efficiently.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of motors and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records for continuous improvement.
