Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Elko, NV to maintain, inspect, and repair mining equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, perform alignments, and document work while ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Two years in a related technical service role; mining/heavy industrial equipment preferred.
• Accredited apprenticeship or 1 year technical college in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of motor control systems; ability to interpret schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; experience aligning couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with good communication.
• Commitment to safety protocols and safe work environment.
• Willingness to travel to varied job sites across mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing and inspection of mining equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues; identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites while maintaining safety standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before returning to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Utilize knowledge of motor controls and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of couplings, transfer cases and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for continuous improvement.
