Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. based in Elko, NV, is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair on a range of mining equipment.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, replace defective parts, and test equipment to ensure safety and reliability at customer sites. Ideal candidates bring at least two years of field service experience, completion of an apprenticeship or technical college, and strong schematics knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a related technical service role.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or one year of technical college in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning couplings, transfer cases and gearboxes.
• Independent and team work ability with good communication.
• Commitment to safety at all times and travel readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment for safety and performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites with high workmanship standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before returning to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot motor controls and read schematics to resolve issues efficiently.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of motors, couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and support continuous improvement efforts.
